Localization name changes spotted in the latest Animal Crossing: New Leaf footage
As with any video game localized to another region, some of the names for buildings and characters have been changed in the English versions of Animal Crossing: New Leaf from the Japanese version.
Some eagle eyed members on The Bell Tree Forums have spotted a few of these changes in the English footage released! Keep reading to see a list of what’s been spotted so far:
Characters
JP:Â Shizue
EN: Isabelle
JP: Lisa
EN: Reese
JP: Kaizo
EN: Cyrus
Buildings
JP: Dream Mansion
EN: Dream Suite
JP: Nook’s Cranny
EN: Nooklings Junction
(this is actually more of a general change than a localization change)
JP: Club 444
EN: Club 101
JP: R. Parkers
EN: Re-Tail
Other
JP: Idol K.K.
EN: Bubblegum K.K.
JP: Dream Code
EN: Dream Address
JP: Delicious Fruit
EN: Perfect Fruit
JP: Morning Town
EN: Early Bird Town
JP: Rich Town
EN: Wealthy Town
Personally, I feel like a lot of these changes are small and unnecessary. Perfect Fruit/Delicious Fruit just seems silly to change although I’m sure Nintendo knows what they’re doing more than I do!
