This year’s E3 might have been a deserted wasteland for the Animal Crossing series, but Nintendo was sure to bring along lots of other content including the upcoming Yo-Kai Watch 2!

Nintendo premiered a brand new trailer for the game showing off the title’s expanded world, new Yo-kai creatures, updated battle system, and time travel story. Three special Yo-kai unlocked by using save data from the original game were revealed as well. Check the trailer out below:

New to the series, Yo-Kai Watch 2 also introduces online battle multiplayer for the first time, instead of only offering local battles like in the original title. This was a negative point we mentioned in our review last year too, so it’s nice to see this improvement.

In addition to the new trailer, the Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 stream covered the game by showing off 30 minutes of raw gameplay footage, although of the Japanese version at this time. For an in-depth preview of Yo-Kai Watch 2, check out an archive of that presentation below:

Yo-Kai Watch 2 releases in the two different versions of Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls on September 30th this fall in North America with each version including unique Yo-kai creatures to collect. We’ll be reviewing the game if we’re given the chance!
