New HOME Menu themes coming to Nintendo 3DS, including Animal Crossing: New Leaf theme, this October

A new Nintendo 3DS system update is releasing this October in all regions, adding the ability to purchase new custom HOME Menu themes from the eShop. These new themes will change the menu background, icons, and folders. New sound effects and background music will be added to your HOME Menu as well with the themes.

While further details are scare at the moment, including pricing, we have confirmation of an Animal Crossing: New Leaf theme. An Zelda: Link Between Worlds theme, and two Mario themes have also been showcased so far by Nintendo. Check out a screenshot of the Animal Crossing: New Leaf theme above.
