We’ve got our first look at the potential pricing for the Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards packs in North America thanks to an early listing by Walmart.
Walmart has recently posted a listing for the first series of Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards on their website for $5.96. As a reminder, the packs in North America will contain 6 cards with 1 special character card and 5 villager cards.
For a quick direct price comparison:
- Two Japanese packs of 3 are 600 yen, or $4.80 USD.
- Two European packs of 3 are £7.00 at the cheapest, or $10.93 USD.
Keep in mind that this is just a very rough comparison. It’s generally not fair to use a direct conversion when looking at prices, but this just gives us a general idea as to where each price is in line with another.
We’ll have to wait until Nintendo officially announces an MSRP to be sure, but $5.99 is a plausible price and seems quite likely to be the correct pricing. Canadians can probably expect a price closer to $6.99 or $7.99 given the current rate of the Canadian dollar at this time.
Let us know in comments below if you feel this is a fair price or not, and if you’ll be buying any packs at this price. At one dollar per card, I think it’s pretty reasonable myself. Cheaper is always better, but these are Nintendo products and amiibo after all!
