Online Happy Home Network features detailed and confirmed in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

The new trailer from PAX Prime today reveals that there are in fact online features to be found in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer after all, although not the simultaneous play from traditional Animal Crossing titles.

A few weeks ago, the Japanese Happy Home Designer website updated with news of a software update coming to Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer in September. The update looked to add some online features to the game, and now we have more details in English.

The newly released PAX Prime trailer for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer mentions the Happy Home Network online feature. According to the trailer, with the Happy Home Network you can show off your designs, as well as visit and rate other people’s public facilities and homes online.

We’re guessing from the screenshots we’ve seen so far that the Happy Home Network will work in a similar manner as the Dream Town system with Dream Addresses in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Also, remember the King Tom Nook we spotted before? It looks like he’s involved in the Happy Home Network in some way!

While there’s no date announced for the software update in Japan yet, we’re getting the impression that the feature will be available at launch in the international versions from the trailer today. There’s no mention of an update, or any disclaimer at the bottom that it won’t be available at launch, it’s simply advertised in the trailer as a standard feature of the game.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer launches in North America in less than a month from now on September 25th, and Europe on October 2nd! Check out our release date countdown here, or pre-order the game and accessories here.
