Animal Crossing for mobile devices confirmed as free-to-play title

Nintendo’s upcoming mobile games for both Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem will be free-to-play titles when they launch later this year in the fall.
While this was already widely believed to be the case based on the previous release of Miitomo which is a free-to-play game, it’s now been confirmed by DeNA Chief Execute Isao Moriyasu through the Wall Street Journal that Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem will follow suit. DeNA is the company working in collaboration with Nintendo on the release and development of their mobile games initiative.
We’ll have to wait for more details on the specifics of Animal Crossing’s mobile monetization, but we might be able to get a grasp by looking at Miitomo’s existing implementation. Stay tuned to Animal Crossing World for more news on Nintendo’s upcoming Animal Crossing mobile game as we get closer to the planned release this fall.
