Version 1.1.4 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons released with Bunny Day adjustments and a literal ‘bug’ fix [UPDATED]

Yet another new software update has just been released for Animal Crossing: New Horizons marking the fourth version to be released in just over 2 weeks!

This new update upgrades the game to Version 1.1.4 (or Version 1.1.4a with Bunny Day) and makes adjustments to the Bunny Day event likely in response to overwhelming recent fan feedback about the spawn rate of Easter Eggs.

According to the update information from Nintendo, the appearance rate for some Easter Eggs have been adjusted during the pre-Easter Day period of the Bunny Day event.

While we haven’t been able to do extensive testing yet, it’s likely that the Water Egg and Sky Egg rates have had their drop rates reduced as they were the main focus of player feedback over this past weekend with many fans remarking on social media the overwhelming number of these eggs.

With the Sky Eggs appearing in a near endless parade of balloon presents over the sky all day long, and the Water Eggs affecting the catch rate of regular fish, they’ve both been sore spots for the community. Hopefully this adjustment relaxes their rates and allows us to actually catch fish in a meaningful manner again!

Notably, the appearance rate has only been adjusted until April 11th, and the Easter Eggs will still become more common to find on the actual Bunny Day taking place on Easter Day — April 12th.

In addition to the Bunny Day changes, a fix has been made to a ‘bug’ where Flick would give you the wrong furniture model when ordering the Scarab Beetle art commission from him.

Official Animal Crossing: New Horizons v1.1.4 Patch Notes

The full official English patch notes from Nintendo of America for the Version 1.1.4 update can be found below:

Ver. 1.1.4 (Released April 6, 2020)

The software has been updated if you see “Ver. 1.1.4” or “Ver. 1.1.4a” in the upper-right corner of the title screen.

General Updates

• Fixed an issue where, when Flick is on your island, if you give him the number of scarab beetles required for a model, the model you receive is of a different insect.
  • How this issue will be resolved in affected save data:
    After the software is updated to Ver. 1.1.4, if you give Flick the required number of scarab beetles again, you will receive the correct model.
• Adjusted the appearance rate of some Bunny Day eggs through 11.04.2020.
  • Note: Eggs will be easier to find on Bunny Day itself, which takes place on 12.04.2020.

Please note that you will need to be updated to Version 1.1.4 to play online multiplayer with other players and access other network features. Local multiplayer can only be played with others on the same version of the game as you.

Your copy of the game should update automatically for you, but if for some reason it doesn’t, you can manually trigger the update by pressing the + button on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons home screen icon, selecting Software Update, and hitting Via the Internet.
