Final Days: Transfer Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Save Data Before It’s Gone Forever

As you likely already know, Nintendo’s live-service Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp game for mobile devices sadly shut down in the fall of last year.

Despite some criticism around how micro-transactions were handled, the game had a distinct appeal and was quite beloved by some players, particularly for the continued release of new furniture and other item content unlike Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Alongside the shutdown of the original game, Nintendo released another version of the game called Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete that can be played offline without further updates featuring no micro-transactions. It’s generally just a more relaxed edition of the game as it would have been created as an offline game to begin with.

Even better, it’s possible to transfer all of your save data from the original live-service Pocket Camp into the new offline Pocket Camp Complete, so you can continue your journey from the original with all the items and villagers you collected.

However, there is an important catch to this save data transfer offer — it only works for a limited time until 6AM UTC on June 2nd, 2025! Regardless of whether you have already linked your old save data to your Nintendo Account, it won’t be possible to transfer any external save data into Pocket Camp Complete anymore after this date.

Importantly, the real date for many players is actually the evening of June 1st due to time zones, not June 2nd. Here’s the save data transfer deadline in popular time zones around the world:

• Eastern Daylight Time (EDT): 2:00 AM on June 2nd
• Pacific Daylight Time (PDT): 11:00 PM on June 1st
• Central European Summer Time (CEST): 8:00 AM on June 2nd
• Japan Standard Time (JST): 3:00 PM on June 2nd
• Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST): 4:00 PM on June 2nd

The likely sole reason for this deadline is to allow Nintendo to eventually delete all of the save data stored on their servers, so it’s a bit of a shame that they couldn’t pledge to keep it around a bit longer for stragglers.

But regardless of the reason or whether it’s reasonable, the deadline is present nonetheless. So if you’ve been on the fence about whether to pick up the successor version, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, and had a lengthy history on the original Pocket Camp — now’s the time to pull the trigger before it’s too late to recover your data!

Yes, there’s definitely a bit of FOMO in there, but I do think Pocket Camp Complete is a nice package and worth owning if you spent a significant amount of time on the original game.
