Nintendo previously announced an Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct back in September, and now we finally have a date and time for the upcoming broadcast!
The Animal Crossing Direct is now scheduled for November 3rd at 7AM Pacific Time / 2PM GMT, and will be presented in both English and Japanese versions. We expect the presentation to focus heavily on the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo update releasing later this fall.
There could be other surprises in store, like a new wave of Animal Crossing amiibo figures to go alongside the update. But don’t expect anything too exciting as unfortunately Nintendo has confirmed there will be no Nintendo Switch or mobile announcements in this Nintendo Direct.
UPDATE: Nintendo of America goes further with their announcement stating the Direct will be “focused exclusively on the new updates coming to Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Nintendo 3DS.”
The absence of the Nintendo Switch is no surprise at all to us given the system was literally just announced, but we had expected a solid chance of the upcoming Animal Crossing mobile game to be revealed. Despite being announced this spring, we have yet to see any footage of the game. Although after the mobile title’s delay to early next year, there’s still plenty of time for a reveal at a later date.
Oh and one more thing… Nintendo of Europe’s announcement on Twitter of the Nintendo Direct has revealed the English name of the new dog character who runs the campground, his name is Harvey! For a quick refresher, the campground is the new area in town where the RV trailers will hang out when you scan one of the new amiibo cards.
