New Animal Crossing: New Horizons Screenshots from Nintendo’s Mexico Event + Analysis!
Brand new screenshots of Animal Crossing: New Horizons have been released today through an unexpected, but very welcome source! This is not a drill everyone!
At a special year-end event in Mexico directed at the Latin America audience, Nintendo revealed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be the first Animal Crossing game to be officially localized into Latin America Spanish.
Previous Animal Crossing games have received a Spanish localization, but those were intended for the European audience in Spain, not Latin America.
But that wasn’t everything — Nintendo also revealed some new Mexican cultural items that can found in New Horizons and showed off a set of brand new screenshots including the items!
Here’s the complete set of six new Animal Crossing: New Horizons screenshots below — click on them for the highest resolution versions:
Aside from the obvious Mexican culture clothing being shown off, there’s a couple more interesting little tidbits we can pick out from these screenshots. For one, there’s definitely a new face style going on here — check out the nose on the female character!
Tom Nook and Timmy or Tommy are featuring some brand new clothing outfits we haven’t seen before too. They’re looking quite a bit more cozy than the island attire we previously saw! Just check out this quick comparison below of today’s screenshot versus another screenshot from September’s Nintendo Direct:
The most likely explanation is that the new clothing is their winter outfit when playing the game in colder months like December, but it’s interesting to see nonetheless.
Another thing, small as it may be, is the first appearance of a hybrid version of the new mystery flower type! We’ve talked previously before about this new flower that resembles either Anemones or Poppies and an orange hybrid of one can be seen in one of the river screenshots.
Finally, I just want to point how absolutely giant these cedar trees appear from the lowered camera angle view. I feel like those trees could step on us, they’re huge!
So, did you spot anything else interesting in these brand new Animal Crossing: New Horizons screenshots? Let us know in the comments below! It’s not much, but I’m super happy to finally see something that’s new! Stay tuned to Animal Crossing World as always for more on New Horizons as we get closer to launch.
