Special Edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch Revealed!

IT’S FINALLY HERE! Your demands have been heard and Nintendo has officially announced a special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons system!

This amazing special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch comes with a gorgeous set of Animal Crossing Joy-Con controllers in pastel blue and green colors, with white on the back of them and matching wrist-straps attached.

On the included Nintendo Switch dock, the design has received a makeover coming in a white color scheme for the first time ever! It’s decorated with a lovely scene of Tom Nook, Timmy, and Tommy on the deserted island surrounded by ocean all across the bottom of the dock.

Even the back of the console is highly decorated with an intricate design featuring various ‘islands’ of Animal Crossing characters and icons, like Margie, Fauna, Bunnie, and Octavian.

If you can’t wait to get your hands on this exciting special edition, you won’t have to wait much longer as it will launch one week earlier than Animal Crossing: New Horizons on March 13th in North America! However, it will release on the standard March 20th date in Europe, Australia, and Japan.

As for price, the special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch system will be sold for $299.99 USD in the United States, £319.99 GBP in the UK, and $399.999 CAD in Canada.

Finally, it’s important to note that this special edition system only comes with a copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons included in SOME regions! For Europe and Japan, a digital download game code is included. In North America, there is no game included with the system.

You can pre-order the Special Edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch at the following places:

But wait, there’s more! For those who already own a Nintendo Switch and don’t plan on purchasing a whole new system, the company is also releasing an official Animal Crossing: New Horizons Aloha Edition Carrying Case featuring two different leaf patterns on each side of the case.

This official carrying case made by Nintendo itself will come with a screen protector included too. It’ll be available on March 13th, alongside the special edition system, in versions for both the regular Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Aloha Edition Carrying Case will cost $24.99 USD for both versions and can be pre-ordered at Target US here: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite.

So, what do you think of this amazing new Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch?! I think Nintendo really knocked it out of the park with this one, especially the white decorated dock, so the wait was well worth it! Let me know in the comments if you’ll be getting one.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches worldwide in less than two months from now on March 20th! Check out our release date countdown here, or pre-order the game here. Stay tuned to Animal Crossing World for more news as we approach the release!

EB Games Australia already called me up asking if I wanted to trade in my old Switch for this new one, because I already have New Horizons on pre-order. Even though this Switch looks so good, I think I’ll keep my old neon one, I’m so attached to it.

Do you know if it comes with a custom stylus as well?

The Switch doesn’t come with a stylus, so this one won’t, either.

Do you think a special edition lite is still possible?? Was hoping for a lite edition

You don’t want the Lite Switch. The Joy-Cons cannot be removed, so when they start to malfunction, there’s no way to fix them. It was a big question on whether the Animal Crossing Switch would end up being standard or Lite, and I’m so grateful it’s the standard one.

Nintendo also repairs natural joycon mishaps on the lite for free 🙂

Can we buy it in Germany as well?

Yes, it will come to Germany, too. https://twitter.com/ACWorldBlog/status/1223150856578555905 Maaaaybe, it will have the game pre-lodaded/bundled like the Japanese version, too!

Yes, it will come. Pre-order needs to go live, yet. Maybe the game will be pre-loaded/bundled like in the Japanese version as it will come out on the same date as the release date of the game.

I couldn’t be happier that I waited! I was already making peace with buying a regular switch as I didn’t like it too much color wise. I’m glued to the computer, refreshing all game sites I know to already put my pre-order in place! I’m eyeying the Hori accessories, too. I’ll guess I’ll have to order from Japan.

I just adore the pattern on the back <3

I have refused to buy a Switch for years just so I could wait and see if an Animal Crossing edition would be released. I’m so happy to be rewarded for my patience! Seeing everyone trying to figure out how to get rid of their current Switch just to get this one, or excuse a second Switch, makes me thankful I avoided all of that. The wait was worth it. I’m not usually a fan of mint green, but the mint blue, the really cute dock, and the wonderful design on the back all make up for it. I might… Read more »

Will this switch have the same battery life as the Hac-001 (-01)?

Should be the Had Switch. I don’t think they’re making the Hac version anymore.

I got it 40mins after they announced it, btw they are also selling the preorder console at JB HI FI in Australia and new horizons comes with a pin (69) whereas the eb games one comes with a keychain (79.95)

Aw man, the Amazon page still doesn’t let me pre-order.

Unless it already sold out? Anyone knows?

Does anyone know if there’s a chance it will restock?

I’ve heard that you have to wait for the release date to order it. Some people are saying it might be the last chance to get one, as they might not restock it again.
