New Animal Crossing: New Horizons screenshots from Walmart reveal log bridge and pinata (Analysis)
An in-store advertisement display at Walmart has revealed a fresh set of exciting new Animal Crossing: New Horizons screenshots to feast our eyes on!
These six new screenshots are pretty interesting with most of them showing off at least a couple neat new discoveries. Let’s go over all six of them in a quick analysis below and see what there might be to discover!
Starting with this first screenshot, it’s by far my personal favorite in the set featuring an absolutely amazing wooden log bridge!! I don’t think I’ve ever loved a bridge design in Animal Crossing so much before and this is definitely one of the first unlocks to construct that I’ll be gunning for first in New Horizons.
And speaking of gunning for the unlock, if you look closely at the Animal Crossing Direct, this log bridge was actually shown in a menu at the top of the list and features the cheapest price to build in the entire menu. So we think it’s likely one of the first bridges you unlock!
Aside from the wooden log bridge, it appears the Fishing Tourney might be occurring during this screenshot as we can see three villagers all hanging around with fishing poles in their hand! It kinda looks like everyone is wearing a fishing suit too adding to the theory.
Finally, the villager in the bottom left is likely Buzz, a classic Animal Crossing character who returned in the Welcome Amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
The second most interesting screenshot features what we believe to be a birthday party over at a house, complete with a giant pinata in the center! This certainly levels up the birthday parties in Animal Crossing: New Horizons compared to past games.
It could be a coincidence, but both of the villagers that we can see faces for are also wearing some nifty special glasses that could be for the birthday party. Other than that, we can’t help but admire how great the flooring and other graphical elements of this screenshot look as we haven’t seen that many indoor shots of homes.
And one more small detail — it appears that there may be some snow sitting in the windowsill! We’re not 100% certain but it sure looks like that could be some snow.
The third screenshot in this set from Walmart takes place during the winter near the holiday season! This might have already been shown in other scenes previously, but the detail of fallen snow on top of both the cobblestone wall in the back left and the wooden fence at the front is lovely.
The giant Christmas Tree and holiday wreath on the home door in this scene remind us of the fallen ornament from cedar trees spotted in our huge analysis yesterday too! In that article, we speculated that the fallen ornaments will be used as a crafting ingredient for creating some holiday themed items.
Both this large Christmas Tree and holiday wreath would make excellent candidates for those crafting ingredients, don’t you think?
This fourth new screenshot takes place in what appears to be a crafting workshop room in a player’s house. There really isn’t too much notable worth sharing here, other than just the vast amount of detail with various little items decorating the scene!
We do recognize the shelving unit at the back from the Animal Crossing Direct though — the two items sitting on the top right of it are additional stacked items not part of the shelving unit.
A fifth new screenshot gives us yet another look at the fantastic museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and particularly the fish aquarium section. Other than getting to see more giant fish creatures, there isn’t much new here.
Seeing the gorgeous Museum in the Animal Crossing Direct was certainly one of the presentation’s highlights for many fans though, so it certainly doesn’t hurt to get more screenshots of it!
Finally, we have one last sixth screenshot to finish us off with an up-close view of a bug on a summer tree, but honestly there really isn’t anything notable to see here. We’re including it anyway though because why not — it still appears to be new by our count!
That wraps up all six of these new exciting Animal Crossing: New Horizons screenshots from an in-store Walmart ad! Let us know in the comments below if you spot anything else notable in either this crafting screenshot, or any of the others, that you’d like to share.
We’d also like to give a huge shout-out to Renee from Facebook who are the original source of taking and sharing these photos from Walmart — amazing find!
