16 Great Variations of The Path Pattern for Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Brick, Stone, Sand, Water)

Unless you’ve been living under a giant rock, it’s highly likely you’ve heard about the famous dirt pathway custom pattern that’s been taking the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community by storm lately.

Often known as simply “The Path” by many Animal Crossing fans at this point, this custom pattern popularized the concept of rough and windy natural looking edges on paths. In the initial design, the path resembled a dirt pathway, but the sky is the limit on this concept!

Since The Path design blew up a week ago, there’s been an amazing series of variations and spin-offs created by Animal Crossing: New Horizons pattern designers inspired by the original.

These impressive new spin-offs of The Path range from simple brick, wood, stone, and sand designs to elaborate new creations featuring flowers, water, and clouds! As always, it’s incredible how much creativity the Animal Crossing community can muster up.

Deeper Warmer Dirt With Leaves Path Pattern

While very similar to the original version of The Path, this deeper and warmer variation brings a new color scheme to the classic design, plus some added leaf and stone decorations that really complete the look!

Brick Path Pattern

This brown brick path pattern combines some of the edges from the original path with the calming design of an old brick road, perfect for walks through forests!

Deteriorated Cobblestone Path Pattern

Another particularly nice looking path for forest areas, the deteriorated cobblestone path pattern features a worn and used design with some grass poking through.

Old Wooden Road Path Pattern

Bring an old town road look to your island with this old wooden road path pattern! What we love most are the small transparent gaps in the wood, which allow the grass (or snow) to poke through the pattern.

Grass Texture Dirt Path Patterns

Quite similar to the original path, this variation brings in a more detailed look to the dirt resembling the iconic Animal Crossing texture seen on grass.

Green Path Pattern

Looking for more of a subtle path design? We love this green pattern for how well it fits into the grass landscape, or at least during the spring and summer! It’s a nice understated design for sure.

Sand Path Pattern

Those looking to embrace a tropical beach look on their island will certainly appreciate a sand version of The Path complete with similar famous edges on this path pattern!

Wow! This fairy flowers path pattern honestly expands the boundaries or what we thought was even possible with custom designs in Animal Crossing! There’s definitely some Alice in Wonderland vibes here as well.

Blue Flowers Path Pattern

You’ve never seen anything like this before — a pathway pattern consisting entirely of beautiful blue flowers! It’s probably a bit over the top for your main paths, but could make an excellent design for a garden area of an island.
