You’ve probably gotten an exclusive Mom’s Handmade Apron or Hand-Knit Sweater item from your virtual Mom in Animal Crossing: New Horizons this month, but which version did you get?

That’s right — much like the Knapsack item last month, there’s actually eight different design variations for the Mom’s Handmade Apron that you can receive in the mail from Mom! It’s a random pick as to which one she’ll send to you, but there’s nothing stopping you from trading with a friend online to get a different design you both may prefer.

For players in the Southern Hemisphere, they likely received the Mom’s Hand-Knit Sweater item this month instead of the Handmade Apron. Both the Sweater and the Apron have 8 different variants though!

While many other Mom items can be customized at a workbench in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, making the different variants essentially meaningless, clothing items cannot be customized. So it does actually matter which one you’re sent with these items.

Didn’t get a letter from Mom yet with the Handmade Apron or Hand-Knit Sweater item? First of all — make sure you’re playing in real-time during June as these items are particularly sent out for the month of June in each hemisphere. Secondly, there continues to be a lot of inconsistencies in how these Mom items are delivered to mailboxes at the start of the month.

I personally received the May item on schedule as expected on May 1st, but for the June item this month, I didn’t get mine until June 2nd. Meanwhile, I know plenty of other players who didn’t receive one until close to the second week of May before.

Honestly, we’re not certain whether this is some bug with the delivery of items from Mom in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or whether these items are just intended to be distributed randomly within the first week or so of the month. Either way, if you didn’t get one yet, just hold out hope and it should come sooner or later during June.

Personally, I received the Flowers version yet again (seems that’s likely not a coincidence) and remain quite disappointed! Pretty much every other version of the Apron would have been better for me, but I’m sure there’s someone else out there wishing they got Flowers.
