Full Version 1.3.0 Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update Patch Notes: Swimming, Sea Creatures, Pascal

5 years ago 51 Comments

The highly anticipated Summer Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons has just been released today marking the second major update to the game since launch day!

This significant fresh new update upgrades Animal Crossing: New Horizons to Version 1.3.0 bringing some major additions to the game including the ability to go swimming, purchase Wet Suits, go diving for Sea Creatures in the ocean, a new special visitor named Pascal, new Mermaid Set furniture to craft, and Pirate Gulliver.

Unfortunately, the patch notes don’t offer up much other interesting information, besides mentioning that other adjustments and bug fixes have been made. Various glitches still remain in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, especially with villager houses, so we’re hoping some of those have been fixed.

Regardless, we know that many of you will be searching to find the full patch notes anyway, so we’ve included them here.

Official English Animal Crossing: New Horizons v1.3.0 Patch Notes

The full official English patch notes from Nintendo of America for the Version 1.3.0 update of Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be found below:

A previous version of this article included translated Japanese patch notes as a placeholder, but it has been updated with the proper official English notes from Nintendo of America.

Note that you will need to be updated to Version 1.3.0 to play online multiplayer with other players and access other network features. Local multiplayer can only be played with others on the same version of the game as you.

Observed Changes In Version 1.3.0 Missing From Patch Notes

The last major Spring Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons released back in April contained a number of smaller changes that weren’t mentioned in the patch notes.

These undocumented changes in the update included adjustments to the Bank of Nook savings account, the ability to play multiple different K.K. Slider songs outside on speakers items, and new items in the Nook Stop Terminal.

Much like those changes, the Summer Update features a number of undocumented secret changes too. Here’s what we’ve uncovered so far:

  • You will receive a letter in your mailbox from Nintendo celebrating the new update. Inside the letter, you can find a random colored Snorkel item that’s great for the new swimming feature.
  • A new Nook Inc. Wet Suit item is now available for purchase at the Nook Stop Terminal for 800 Nook Miles!
  • The Japanese holiday Tanabata can be celebrated with a special seasonal item now available in Nook Shopping.
  • When Saharah visits your island, you can now more easily purchase multiple items from her with less dialogue than before.
  • The Camera app glitch to hide the HUD interface has been fixed and no longer works.
  • A bug allowing you to create waterfalls that can be glitched through for a ‘secret area’ has been fixed.

Please let us know in the comments below if you spot any more interesting small changes or additions that haven’t been mentioned already, so we can update this article as the best resource!

Note that you will need to be updated to Version 1.3.0 to play online multiplayer with other players and access other network features. Local multiplayer can only be played with others on the same version of the game as you.
