For this trick, you’ll need admin access to your router. If you have that, follow the instructions below:
Update: At the moment, it seems this trick is broken in Europe.
1) Log in to the admin settings page for your router. Use Google if you need assistance on how to do this.
2) Change your router Wi-Fi SSID to “Bestbuy”. Basically, the name of your Wi-Fi hotspot. Keep in mind that this is case sensitive!
3) Re setup the internet connection on your Nintendo 3DS for your new router name.
4) If it’s working and you set the name correctly, your 3DS should inform you of a nearby Nintendo Zone hotspot. But you don’t actually need to go inside the app. Just head to the next step.
5) Load up Animal Crossing: New Leaf and run to the Post Office on Main Street. Talk to Pelly at the desk and ask to check for presents. She should hand you the Raccoon Wall Clock item. Keep in mind that if you haven’t already checked with Pelly before, you will receive the Rainbow Screen first.
I haven’t checked this myself first hand since I already have it, but I did have a close friend test and confirm he got the item successfully. Good luck guys!
