Don’t miss out on the first Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer DLC released outside of Japan before it goes away!

The first free DLC for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer outside of Japan is the Louie Special Design Request now available to download through SpotPass in all regions and previously available through Nintendo Zone hotspots.

This free DLC celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros. last month by bringing back the classic villager Louie from the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing. As you’d expect, Louie comes with the Mario series of Nintendo furniture and wallpaper/carpet to help you celebrate the anniversary with him by designing his appropriately themed home. You might notice he resembles Donkey Kong a bit too…what a coincidence…!

To get the DLC yourself, head up to the second floor of Nook’s Homes and access the blue laptop on the desk to the middle left to search for available DLC. We don’t know yet exactly how long it will be available for overseas, but distribution ends on November 1st in Japan, so that’s probably a safe bet for everywhere else.

And while this is just speculation, we think there’s a good chance of seeing the classic villagers Claude and Maddie return in more Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer DLC similar to Louie soon. They were spotted in the game files alongside Louie and Carrie back in August!
