Animal Crossing for mobile devices has been delayed to Early 2017

With the announcement of Super Mario Run for iOS this morning at Apple’s September event, Nintendo sneaked in a delay for Animal Crossing mobile as well.

While Super Mario Run for iOS is scheduled for a release this December worldwide in over 100 countries, Nintendo’s previously announced Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem mobile games are now expected to release sometime after Super Mario Run. Nintendo promises they’ll both be released before the end of March 2017 now, but the actual dates are still up in the air right now.

This marks a potentially significant delay from the originally announced release time-frame of this fall for both the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem mobile apps earlier this year when they were revealed in April. Now we won’t be seeing these games until January at the earliest.

Keep it locked to Animal Crossing World as we learn more about Animal Crossing for mobile devices soon. We’re expecting a possible gameplay reveal of the app for the first time at the upcoming Animal Crossing Direct scheduled for later this year.
