Nintendo’s Miiverse service is shutting down TONIGHT on all devices, last chance to backup memories

1 year ago 2 Comments

We previously reported on the shutdown when it was announced in August, but we want to remind you one more time. Nintendo plans to shut down the entire Miiverse service on Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and the web TONIGHT (November 7th) at 10PM Pacific Time.

You can request an official backup download from Nintendo including all of your posts including drawing and screenshots, plus all images in your album. Click here to find the backup request page. Nintendo says this request must be made before the service ends, so we highly recommend making your request right now as soon as you read this if you haven’t yet or it may be too late if you wait.

However, it is worth noting that this backup with NOT include comments from other people, messages to friends, and of course other users’ posts. So if you have any lasting memories you’d like to keep that is anywhere on Miiverse outside of your own post content, make sure to grab screenshots or other ways of saving ASAP before it could be gone forever after today.

You will no longer be able to use the Miiverse service to grab high-quality screenshots in Animal Crossing: New Leaf either after today, which is quite a shame. Farewell Miiverse. You kind of served us well for screenshot purposes.
