A great looking farming RPG life simulator game is heading to the Nintendo Switch from Team 17 and the release date has finally been revealed!
My Time at Portia melds together the best elements from popular farming RPG titles like Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, and Rune Factory, plus a bit of Animal Crossing. You start off the game inheriting a workshop working hard to craft resources and slowly build it up into the best shop of the town.
Outside of your workshop, there’s plenty to room to expand the area into an expansive farm for growing crops and raising animals! And with ways of automating your farm, you don’t need to tend to its every little need giving you more time to do other activities.
For your Animal Crossing fix, you have a nicely sized house to decorate and expand with plenty of furniture and other items. It’s not just cosmetic either — house items can help boost your stat points too. Other Animal Crossing staples that can be found in My Time at Portia include fishing and festival events.
And when you’re looking for a change of pace from farming and decorating, you can even head to the dungeons to fight deadly monsters and collect treasure!
It’s definitely looking to lean more towards the Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon side of things than the Animal Crossing side, but we think this game is really worth a look for Animal Crossing fans too. It might make a great game to tide over the wait until Animal Crossing for Switch!
My Time at Portia releases for the Nintendo Switch on April 16th and can be pre-purchased on the eShop starting today for $29.99 USD. We just got our review copy in today and will be posting a preview of our experience in the coming week!
In addition to the Switch release, My Time at Portia will be coming to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on the same date, and is already available on Steam.
