New Horizons NEWS coming in December? The Animal Crossing Twitter account is making changes!
It’s been a while since Nintendo has released any substantial new information on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it looks like we won’t have to wait long for the news to start up again soon!
Ever since Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp first launched, the main English Animal Crossing Twitter account hosted by Isabelle has been used for the game’s various daily updates on events and other promotions. This has been in contrast to the Japanese market where a separate account was made dedicated just to Pocket Camp updates by Lloid.
Two years later after the release of Pocket Camp, the English account has announced the same move with the creation of a new separate @Pocket_Camp account for the game’s updates. Naturally, we have to wonder why this change is being made now after all this time.
Exciting news, everyone! Lloid is stepping up to provide Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp with its very own official Twitter! While I'm not going anywhere, you should follow @Pocket_Camp to stay up to date on all the latest Pocket Camp news! pic.twitter.com/esMB5tAO5X

One obvious theory that comes to mind is that Nintendo wants to have the main Animal Crossing account focus completely on the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons without any of the daily happenings of Pocket Camp crowding up the feed. In fact, we’re willing to bet that’s exactly what is going on here.
Specifically, Isabelle says that starting next month the new @Pocket_Camp account will be the ‘go-to source’ for everything on Pocket Camp. While that’s not explicitly stating to expect New Horizons tweets then, there wouldn’t be much point in essentially bringing the official Animal Crossing account of 273,000 followers dark with no content once Pocket Camp tweets end.
I'll continue to provide Pocket Camp updates for a while, as Lloid gets situated. Starting next month, though, @Pocket_Camp will be your go-to source of news for everything relevant to your campsite!

For those reasons, we’re pretty sure that the Animal Crossing Twitter account will begin posting some news and previews of New Horizons sometime in December when everything switches over to the new Pocket Camp account. We’ll be approaching just three months away from the release date of New Horizons at that point too.
Now you probably didn’t need any of this to tell you that Nintendo is going to release news on their big upcoming game launching in just four months, but I know we’re all pretty desperate to get our hands on any tiny piece of New Horizons news we can find! It won’t be long now until we’re drowning in information on the game.
Be sure to stay tuned to Animal Crossing World in the coming months to stay up to date on EVERYTHING there is to know about Animal Crossing: New Horizons and more leading up to the release on March 20th next year!
Yesssssss! You’re right — we are all itching for some new info! I was hoping for a Nintendo Direct in November, but that’s definitely not happening. Maybe we will get an AC specific Nintendo Direct in December. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that!!!! 🙂
They probably want to focus on moving copies of Pokemon Sword and Shield during the holiday season before distracting consumers with Animal Crossing dreams.
I hope we get a ton of ACNH merchandise, cases for both Switch models Original and the Lite, stickers for both the dock and cases that won’t. leave sticky goo behind, and of corse Plushies… I would love to get a Curt Bear plush or Whitney.
