Hackers Add Better Mystery Islands, Larger Item Stacks, Unbreakable Tools To Animal Crossing: New Horizons

While we await future updates to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, like some of the quality of life dreams highlighted in a recent video, hackers out there definitely aren’t wasting any time waiting!

Those lovely Star Fragment trees we covered last week made for a great aesthetic addition to islands, but there’s many gameplay elements that fans have been clamoring for improvements to as well.

One of those desires is certainly inventory management and with an Animal Crossing: New Horizons hack, it’s possible for you to carry far more crafting materials and other items in a single slot up to 99, rather than the game’s default limit of 30.

That same hack allows for turnips to be stored in your house’s storage menu as well, so you don’t have to dedicate an entire room or two to managing your turnips. DIY Recipes can go in your storage too, instead of an inevitable recipe dump outside. Weirdly, you can even eat fish you catch for gaining fruit energy, if that’s your style!

Something else that’s likely to resonate with a lot of players is a set of cheat codes allowing for unbreakable tools like Fishing Rods or Axes and handy time savers like increased animation speeds. Decreased character dialogue is even in the works by someone too.

Another great hack we’ve seen is a modification called ‘Mystery Tour Island+’ that aims to improve the experience of visiting mystery islands using Nook Miles Tickets. Once you’ve visited enough of these islands, they can certainly start to wear thin on you and this mod helps out a lot with that.

In particular, changes have been made to the random island picker to improve the odds of seeing a more interesting island by reducing the four most common island types to a mere 0.5% chance. The temporary May Day Tour event island is added to the possible islands as well.

They’ve even brought back the Hybrid Flower and Big Fish island types that seems to have disappeared from Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ possible islands rotation as of the Version 1.2 update last month. Finally, it appears the author has created a couple custom island variations of their own thrown into the mix.

And of course, the usual assortment of straight up cheats you’d expect to see in any game are floating around too. You wanna walk through walls or freeze time? Speed up your run speed or have instant full fruit energy power? All of that and more exists out there!

Lastly, some folks have been messing around with the possibilities of moving their Resident Services or plaza area around the island freely. Given that it’s currently not possible to move these at all right now through legitimate play, it’s pretty appetizing to see.

Would you like to see any of these hacked changes make their way to your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island, or are you happy with things just how they are? Let us know in the comments below! (via Polygon)
