The day we’ve been waiting years for here is finally here. Animal Crossing: New Leaf has been released in Japan and will soon come to the rest of the world in early 2013. Stay tuned to the Blog in the coming days as we report on new information coming from the Japanese release.

Many of us have expected this for a while now but Nintendo of America has just confirmed via Twitter that Animal Crossing 3DS will be releasing in the first half of 2013 in the Americas. Meanwhile Japan will be getting the game on November 8th.
Furthermore, in their Animal Crossing tweet they specified first half of 2013 while for their Luigi’s Mansion (also releasing in 2013) tweet they specified first quarter of 2013.
Take it as you will but in my opinion this means a May or June release date rather than around March. Even if we won’t be getting the game soon, we will at least be getting lots of videos on the game leading up to the Japanese release.

Nintendo just released their earnings report for this last quarter and with that comes an updated launch schedule for each region. To summarize, the current official release timeframes are as follows…
I got some sad news here folks. Animal Crossing 3DS has been confirmed for Early 2013 in Europe. Based on this and the lack of the game being mentioned on the American Nintendo Direct we can assume the same for North America. That last bit however is not confirmed. Stay tuned.
Keep in mind this is pure speculation but the English Nintendo Direct just ended with no mention of Animal Crossing 3DS while the Japanese one had a 3 minute video saying 2012. Again, just speculation but does this imply a 2013 release for North America/Europe? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
