List of All Public Facilities and How to Unlock Them

There are a variety of Public Facility buildings in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer that can be built, designed, and decorated by you. At the beginning of the game, all of the facilities are abandoned and closed, but more can be opened as you progress through the game.

A list of all Public Facility buildings in the game are below. The buildings are split into different sets available together at different parts of the game. Generally, you must complete the previous set of buildings before proceeding to the next.

How to Edit or Modify Public Facilities Later

You can edit or modify public facility buildings later through speaking to Digby in Nook’s Homes. However, you do not unlock this feature until the school expansion from Set 2 has been completed. After expanding the school, you can speak to Digby in Nook’s Homes at any time to edit or modify all public facility buildings.

How to Unlock the School + Themes

The School public facility building is built on your sixth in-game day, after designing the homes of Lottie, Goldie, Lopez, and 2 random villagers. You can choose between these three exterior designs when building the School:

How to Unlock the Hospital + Themes

The Hospital public facility building can be be built starting on the 10th in-game day, alongside the Shop and Cafe buildings. To do so, speak to Isabelle in the bottom right of Nook’s Homes. You can choose between these three exterior designs when building the Hospital:
