Nintendo Opens Official Animal Crossing Instagram Account Featuring Villager Videos

A brand new official Animal Crossing account has been launched on Instagram by Nintendo today adding to the series’ social media empire previously seen on Twitter!

While the official accounts on Twitter for Animal Crossing have traditionally been hosted in character by Isabelle, save for brief stints as both Tom Nook and Lottie to promote new games, the Instagram edition has more of a neutral presentation.

As for what sort of content Nintendo will be sharing on their new official Animal Crossing Instagram, we can get a peek with the very post featuring a video of Twiggy living life inside her house.

Take a look at the first Animal Crossing post on Instagram below:

Today is actually Twiggy’s in-game birthday in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so it appears Nintendo will likely be highlighting each villager on Instagram to celebrate their birthdays! It’ll definitely be cute to see more acknowledge of birthdays.

Notably, the account appears to be doubly functioning as both an English and Japanese account based on the account username of ‘animalcrossing_official’ and use of both languages in the profile description.

That’s an interesting change from the official Animal Crossing accounts on Twitter that vary by region and language, but it makes sense since Instagram is more focused on photos and videos than text.

You can find the official Animal Crossing account on Instagram to follow here, currently standing at 100,000 followers as of publishing time. And while you’re at it, check out our own Animal Crossing World account on Instagram.
