New Autumn Bushes Bloom In Animal Crossing: New Horizons Today For Northern Hemisphere
The first official day of Autumn has arrived with a brand new type of bush fully blooming in Animal Crossing: New Horizons today!
If you’re playing in the Northern Hemisphere, start searching for those Tea Olive starts hidden away in your storage as it’s time to get to work planting them around your island to experience the fall season in all its glory. The Hibiscus Bushes that were enjoyed much of this summer are gone, so you may want to replace them with Tea Olive Bushes if you like blooming shrubs!
Tea Olive Bushes can be found in both orange and yellow variants, but they won’t be sticking around with us for too long as their lifespan is only about 6 weeks before the Holly Bush comes into bloom as we approach winter on November 1st.
Missing some Tea Olive starts to plant? Be on the look out for Leif selling shrubs outside of Resident Services on your island soon as he’ll always sell the currently in season type of bush, so you’re guaranteed to find Tea Olives for sale when he arrives!
But what about players in the Southern Hemisphere where the Spring season is setting in? They’re currently enjoying the blooming Camellia Bushes, but those shrubs will be going out season when September comes to an end next week.
Instead of being replaced by a new type of bush immediately though, the beginning of October will mark the first Cherry Blossom Season for Southern Hemisphere players! During this 10 day period from October 1st to 10th, beautiful Cherry Blossom materials and DIY Recipes will be available.
That’s relevant because there aren’t any bushes blooming during the Cherry Blossom period, but the pink and white Azalea Bushes will arrive on October 11th after the blossom festivities are over.

On the topic of the Fall season beginning, we’re still eagerly awaiting news on the next major Animal Crossing: New Horizons update that was previously announced for release during the Fall. There’s been plenty of speculation over the past couple months of when exactly Nintendo meant by that, but it’s now officially Fall and we’re ready!
We don’t know exactly what will be included in this new update, except for that the Halloween seasonal event will be introduced with returning special character Jack. This will mark the first major event added to the game since Zipper’s Bunny Day for Easter all the way back in April, so we’re very excited to see more details soon.
