The lack of proper skin tone options have been a long controversial issue in the Animal Crossing series, but it looks as if Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is set to change that later this year based on this screenshot from the latest trailer.
The first series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards will be released this September with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. This series of cards will include exactly 100 animals, with 25 of them revealed today, with a mix of special characters and regular villagers.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer launches this summer in Japan on July 30th, as just announced on the latest Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast. Alongside the release date, we have some pricing information for the Japanese market, which should give us a hint as to the pricing overseas.
