Nintendo has announced a third wave of the Animal Crossing amiibo line of figures, including three previously leaked amiibo and one newly revealed figure.
The new wave of Animal Crossing amiibo figures is set to include Kapp’n, Rover, Timmy and Tommy, and a new Summer Outfit version of Isabelle*. That’s right — we’ve got two Isabelle separate figures, but not one Sable figure to go with Mabel!
Here’s a look at the figures in their high resolution glory, click the images for the full-sized versions:
These figures are scheduled to release on March 18th in Europe and North America, and March 24th in Japan. No release date has been announced for North America market yet, but we’ll keep you updated when we have one.
*Interestingly enough, the Summer Outfit Isabelle figure is absent from the Nintendo of America press release, so we’re not 100% sure if it’s coming to North America or not.
A new Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer bundle has been announced as well for Europe and Japan, coming with the new Summer Outfit Isabelle amiibo figure alongside a copy of the game. It’ll run 5,400 yen in Japan, the same price as the NFC Reader bundle, giving a hint for the overseas price point.
We believe these figures to be the last of the Animal Crossing amiibo series, at least for now. Character sprites for every one of the released and now announced figures were included in Super Mario Maker back in September, so presumably that’s the entire planned line-up for now. Further figures may see release in the future alongside a new full-fledged Animal Crossing title for the Wii U or Nintendo NX though.
It’s actually quite amazing that this many Animal Crossing amiibo have been released totaling a whopping 16 figures, given that even the Super Mario series has only earned 6 (seven including Gold Mario) comparatively. If you needed proof of how far the Animal Crossing franchise has come in the past few years, you’ve got it right here!
Don’t forget that the Wave 2 Animal Crossing amiibo figures including Blathers, Celeste, Kicks, and Resetti launch in North America tomorrow, January 22nd! They’ll see release in Europe next week on Friday, January 29th. Pre-order now on Amazon US, Amazon Canada, and Amazon UK.
