Bugs, Fish, Sea Creatures Leaving In September For Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Northern & Southern Hemisphere)

We’re quickly approaching the final days of September! In this guide, we’ll tell you every bug, fish, and sea creature departing from your island after September ends in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH).

Each and every month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings a different set of fish or bug creatures that can appear on your Animal Crossing island depending on the current month from the real-time clock.

That means some fish, bugs, and sea creatures currently found on your island right now will disappear becoming no longer obtainable when the month of September ends and October begins!

So if you want to catch every single creature to complete your NookPhone’s Critterpedia for getting golden tool items and donate every critter to the Museum, it’s important to know which critters are leaving and making sure you catch them before September ends.

This guide covers both the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere islands — you’ll find the Southern information below the Northern sections. We’re also including Sea Creatures now after they were added in the Summer Update a few months ago.

For September, the Northern Hemisphere is seeing the full transition out of summer take place as dozens of bugs and fish leave our islands, including many summer butterflies and sharks. Meanwhile in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s mostly only fish leaving as Spring comes into full bloom.

Finally, it’s worth noting that we’re getting far enough into the game’s lifecycle that you will see many creatures leaving that have already previously left in another month earlier this year. We write these guides inclusive of no matter when someone may have started playing or taken a break, so repeats will show up sometimes!
