As we countdown to E3 2012 in anticipation of new information for Animal Crossing 3DS, I’m starting a series of opinion pieces about the game. Be sure to check the blog often for more posts!
With Animal Crossing 3DS set to be the most anticipated game of the series so far Nintendo needs to pull out all the tricks to create the best Animal Crossing game yet. Many people have complained that City Folk offered little more than the previous versions and the 3DS game needs to be more than just a small update.
I’ve spent a little while thinking of what the series badly needs that it hasn’t already gotten yet. Here’s what Nintendo needs to do in my opinion to make sure Animal Crossing 3DS is the best game in the series…
Nintendo held an investor meeting recently and at this meeting Iwata has revealed Nintendo’s plans to offer full retail games digitally on the eShop starting with New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the 3DS in August 2012. That’s pretty cool, but how does that relate to Animal Crossing you might say? Well, later in the meeting Iwata had the following to say about retail games going digital:
A few days ago Nintendo released brand new screenshots for Animal Crossing 3DS. Since then the screenshots have been on my mind the entire time. I’ve enlarged them and analysed them for new information to gather. I’ll go through each screenshot and point out what I see that’s new to the game. Let’s start with the first screenshot below…
If you’re like me and the rest of the Animal Crossing fanbase you’ve been waiting a long time for the next Animal Crossing and finally we have a semi-official release window for Animal Crossing 3DS! Straight from the January edition of OMN (Official Nintendo Magazine) in the UK there’s an article detailing most of the new information from September which isn’t that new. However also in this preview is a ETA of Summer 2012! It’s kind of a big deal seeing as most of us have been expecting a holiday release this year.
