The Best Friends feature enables in-game messaging between players even when you are in different towns. You are also notified when your best friend comes online. In this case, the player is informing their best friend of the unusually high turnip prices in town today by using the messaging system.
Tweet Translation by Sumwheat:
Times like this you really want to let you best friend’s know, right? If you are best friends, then you can chat online together without leaving your village, easily use chat for things from casual conversations to meet ups, so it’s really convenient.

We’ve got two Nintendo Directs coming in. First is a Japanese one at 4AM PST, then we have an American one at 7AM PST.
The American one is broadcasting at 7AM PST. The broadcast will include more information on upcoming Nintendo 3DS titles. Most likely we’ll get more details for Paper Mario and Professor Layton releasing this holiday but there’s also a chance for Animal Crossing localization news. For other time zones, it’s at 10AM EST and 3PM BST.
The Japanese one is broadcasting at 4AM PST. I’m not sure what to expect from this one. Probably Paper Mario and Animal Crossing? Maybe a new game announcement or two for next year in Japan. For other time zones, it’s at 7AM EST and Noon BST.
Following up Sunday’s tweet about buying Turnips, we now see the player asking for the afternoon’s Turnip selling price at R Parkers. Good to know we won’t have to travel to the City to check the prices.
Tweet Translation by Sumwheat:
Turnip prices this afternoon were at 144 bells! The villagers are getting antsy, thinking the price might go up even more around tomorrow morning…!
Speech Bubble Translation by Sumwheat:
At this time we are buying turnips at 144 bells each

Everybody! Good morning! This morning, on the beach there was a sailor who was passed out… It seems that he lost his memory and thus has no idea where his destination is. Thank goodness that someone very kind was able to help Johnny get his memory back!
Speech Bubble Translation by Saratoga:
Where was I headed to anyway?

Japanese magazine Famitsu has bundled an Animal Crossing 3DS booklet with the latest issue. It’s kind of like a guide. Check out a 14 page preview of the booklet by clicking here! When scans of the full booklet come in I’ll be posting them here so stay tuned.
