Note that the rest of this article should be considered significant spoilers for the Turkey Day event, so proceed at your own risk. We recognize there is an interest from some readers to be as prepared as possible without surprises, which is why we’re publishing this.
How To Prepare For Turkey Day Thanksgiving Event
During the Turkey Day event, the world-class chef Franklin will ask you for help with cooking up four different dishes for him and your villagers. A list of required ingredients will be provided to you by him for each recipe.
If you want to be as prepared as possible for the event, you can start by gathering up and obtaining all of the ingredients beforehand that you might need on Thanksgiving. We’ll tell you every recipe in this article.
However, it’s worth noting that gathering ingredients beforehand is not actually necessary to do, because you can get everything required by trading fish to villagers in their homes. Preparation is simply to help you complete the event in an easier or faster manner.
Keep in mind that for some recipes, there is a random element involved where you will only require one ingredient of a few different possibilities. We’ll tell you about all the possibilities, but know that this means you’ll have to gather some ingredients that will ultimately be left unused.
Finally, each recipe has a special final Secret ingredient used to enhance the dish. Franklin won’t tell you about this ingredient or even allow you to cook with it initially, but you can add it later after creating a dish to get a bonus reward. Villagers will give hints about the secret ingredients, but we’ll tell you them as well.

The Clam Chowder recipe can be cooked on Turkey Day using the following ingredients:

That covers all of the possible ingredients you’ll need during the Turkey Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons happening on Thursday, November 26th. If you gather up everything above, you should be ready to go and complete the event in record time.
To be quite honest, we don’t really recommend doing this as it could suck a lot of the fun out of the event, but we do realize some fans would prefer to prepare and we’re happy to assist how we can with this article. One scenario that would make sense if you have limited time to play on Thanksgiving, but don’t like to time travel.
