Turkey Day Event Preparations Begin Today In Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Thanksgiving)

With just five more days to go until the Turkey Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the first signs of this upcoming event have begun to appear today!
Although the actual event on Thanksgiving itself remains time locked to the real-world date by Nintendo for a little longer, we can spot a few preparations for the event on our islands right now even with the lock. This requires the Winter Update to be downloaded of course.
Isabelle’s Turkey Day Announcement
Beginning on November 21st, Isabelle will begin to spread the news of the Turkey Day event happening on November 26th this year! She’s invited the world-class chef Franklin to visit the island to cook for everyone at the plaza throughout the day.
We only heard her announcement on one of our islands today though, so it seems that another announcement like a campsite visitor can override it. Presumably Isabelle will share her Turkey Day news the next day in this scenario.
Turkey Day Bulletin Board Notice
As part of her hard work to ensure nobody misses out on the exciting arrival of Franklin, Isabelle has posted an announcement on our Bulletin Boards outside of Resident Services informing of the upcoming event!
Villagers Get Excited About Turkey Day
Lastly, the villagers across your island will start getting excited about Turkey Day as well, with mentions of the event celebrations beginning to pop up in their dialogue!
Marina shared with us how Turkey Day is the day foodies wait for all year long and she better get a start on gathering ingredients, which is a good point. Participating in the Turkey Day event will require a number of different ingredients including pumpkins, fish, and mushrooms to cook the dishes!
We’re glad that Marina is gathering ingredients because we’ll be able to benefit from her as well. During the event, some villagers will be cooking indoors and can help us with getting missing ingredients in exchange for fish.
Bunnie and Plucky were freaking out about the upcoming Turkey Day event on our island as well, with Bunnie getting excited for the surprise celebrity chef visit from Franklin soon! It’s no surprise a peppy villager would be pumped to meet a celebrity like him.
