Get Your Hinaningyo & Blossom Lantern Items Today In Animal Crossing: New Horizons For Hinamatsuri Festival

Two brand new seasonal items for the Japanese Hinamatsuri Festival holiday are now available to enjoy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons today, alongside the February Mario Update release!

While most of the new update’s highlight features including Super Mario Set furniture and clothing aren’t available quite yet due to time locking by Nintendo, we can begin celebrating the Hinamatsuri Festival right away today after installing the update.

The Hinamatsuri Festival in Japan introduces two lovely new items to Animal Crossing: New Horizons found for order inside of the Seasonal tab inside Nook Shopping’s Special Goods section — the Hhinaningyo and Blossom Lantern.

The Hhinaningyo is a large special step-altar display of Japanese Emporor and Empress dolls, while the Blossom Lantern resembles a Japanese paper lamp with blossom decorations called the Bonbori often seen during festivals.

Although the Hhinaningyo is rather large and will likely be reserved for indoor use, we definitely can see a lot of potential flexible uses for the Blossom Lantern outdoors, especially as a pathway liner.

Each of the two Hinamatsuri Festival items will rotate in and out of Nook Shopping throughout the event period of February 25th to March 3rd, so you’ll only see one of the items at a time. Be sure to check back a second time for the item you don’t see initially!

There’s absolutely nothing stopping players from time traveling in advance an extra day to order both items immediately though if you desire. Nintendo’s time locking habits don’t extend quite that far!
