Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo Cards Reprint Coming To North America & Europe In March [Pre-Order Guide]

An official reprint of the Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Amiibo Cards is on the way worldwide in just a couple weeks!
Announced alongside the January Update reveal trailer with Festivale, the Sanrio amiibo cards are making an official comeback for the first time since their initial release in November 2016 — and for the very first time in North America.
The Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Pack contains six different amiibo cards inspired by a selection of Sanrio properties including Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, My Melody, and more! Each card features a villager inspired by a Sanrio character, and appropriately themed furniture.
Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo Cards Pre-Orders & Release Date
The Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Pack for Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes with all 6 of the Sanrio amiibo cards and will be released worldwide starting on March 26th, 2021 including in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and more.
As we approach the re-release of Animal Crossing Sanrio Cards, pre-orders will begin to go live at various retailers around the world. So far, there has been little activity with very few countries and retailers putting the cards up for sale, but we’ll keep track of everything in this pre-order guide below!
United States
The Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo Cards will be released exclusively at Target in the United States for $5.99 and pre-orders have not yet gone live to our knowledge. Stay tuned for updates right here or follow our Twitter account.
Thanks for reaching out. Right now, we don’t have additional details to share, other than that it will be available on 3/26. We encourage you to check back around that time.

Some fans have attempted to contact Target support channels in hope of learning additional information, but they remain tightlipped. Technically, we don’t actually know for sure if pre-orders will occur — it would just be strange if they didn’t.
Canada
Best Buy and Amazon will exclusively carry the Sanrio Amiibo Cards in Canada for $6.99 with pre-orders currently sold out at Best Buy as of our last update:
- Best Buy Canada (sold out)
- Amazon Canada (not yet available)
Note: Nintendo of Canada has specified ‘online’, meaning the cards will not be available in-store.
Europe (+ UK)
The Sanrio Amiibo Cards will release in the United Kingdom and greater Europe during ‘Late March’ according to Nintendo of Europe. We recommend fans in the UK keep an eye on the Nintendo Official UK Store.
Pre-orders are now live for the Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo Cards at the following retailers in Europe:
- Game Mania (Netherlands)
- FNAC (France, sold out)
Note: We have received reports from multiple readers that retailer FNAC recently cancelled a large amount of orders having apparently oversold their allotment.
Australia
Pre-orders have gone live for the Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo Cards in Australia at a price of $9.99 per pack at the following retailers:
- EB Games Australia (sold out)
- The Gamesmen (sold out)
- Amazon Australia (sold out)
Note that if you import from Japan, the contents of the package are identical to the original release from 2016 with no changes — which means each pack will come with 2 random Sanrio cards, not the complete set of 6.
What Can Sanrio Cards Do In New Horizons?
Currently, there are six different Sanrio themed poster furniture items you can obtain in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by scanning the Sanrio amiibo cards. Learn more about Sanrio Posters here.
But what about the villagers and furniture pictured on each of the Sanrio amiibo cards? We weren’t sure originally when the Sanrio Amiibo Cards re-print was first announced whether these special Sanrio-inspired villagers and themed items would be coming to New Horizons or not yet.
Thankfully, Nintendo has later revealed that all six of the Sanrio Collaboration villagers and their associated items, including furniture and clothing, will be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the Version 1.9 update releasing on March 17th!
