Brewster & The Roost Cafe Coming To Animal Crossing: New Horizons In November Update

3 years ago 25 Comments

It’s FINALLY happening Animal Crossing fans — a brand new update has just been confirmed for Animal Crossing: New Horizons that will introduce both Brewster and his The Roost cafe to the game!

Just announced during today’s September Nintendo Direct presentation, a brief preview of The Roost inside of the Museum on the second floor was revealed with news of a new free update launching in November featuring the returning Brewster character and more.

From what we saw in that very quick preview, The Roost will be open 24/7 inside the Museum and prominently features an icon of Brewster on a sign near the entrance. You’ll be able to access it by climbing up the stairs of the Museum near the Art Gallery introduced in a previous update.

But you won’t have to wait until November to hear more about this exciting and long-awaited update as Nintendo has also confirmed a special dedicated Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct set to be held sometime during October next month.

An exact broadcast date for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct will be announced later, but it’s safe to say that this new update in November will be fairly significant if the company is producing an entire presentation for it — rather than another short update trailer, as they have in the past.

Specifically, the November update teaser shown on screen during the Nintendo Direct advertises that ‘New Free Content’ will be available in November with a photo of returning character Brewster, alongside an ‘and more!’ teaser.

Finally, one more exciting piece of news was completely missing from the Nintendo Direct and only announced sneakily on Twitter by the official Animal Crossing accounts after the presentation: a new Series 5 of official Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards will be coming soon!

Details are set to be announced at a later date, but it’s safe to say the eight new villagers introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons without amiibo cards will finally get their spotlight in this new 5th series of cards.

Beyond that, it’s easy to start thinking about the possibility of some entirely new villagers coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with the November Update given the dual announcements of a special Direct and new amiibo cards! But that’s just speculation for now.

Here’s a brief summary of the four main points of Animal Crossing: New Horizons news to take away from today’s announcement in the Nintendo Direct:

  • The Roost, alongside Brewster, is coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in a new free content update.
  • The new content update will be released sometime during November 2021, with more new content beyond Brewster included.
  • More details on the new update will be revealed during a special dedicated Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct sometime during October 2021, with an air date to be announced soon.
  • Announced later on Twitter, a new Series 5 of Animal Crossing Amiib0 Cards will be released at some point soon! More details will come at a later date.
