Tweet #39: The Gardener

12 years ago 12 Comments

You know the Garden Shop that you can open up in the city? Well, apparently you can ask the shop’s owner (Lazy) to pull all the weeds in your town! I have to wonder if Wisp will still be around now…

Tweet Translation:

Good morning, everyooone! The day we finally get to welcome our new mayor is almost here, so I asked Lazy from the garden shop to pull all the weeds! I took a peek partway through to see how it was going and he was sleeping, so was worried if it would ever get done, but he cleaned everything up perfectly.

No Voice Chat in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

12 years ago 17 Comments

After City Folk offered voice chat through Wii Speak, some have hoped that New Leaf would support voice chat through the 3DS microphone. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

In a Question and Answer page on the Japanese site, it’s revealed that the game offers no Voice Chat. Of course, you can still use the keyboard on the second screen to type just like before. Still, it would have been nice to have voice chat.

Tweet #38: Maiko

12 years ago 8 Comments

A girl has been seen wondering different villages taking the train from village to village. She’s been asking people for suggestions of other villages.

Speculation: This girl has a surprising resemblance to Katie/Kaitlin from Wild World and City Folk. Katie would get lost in other villagers and her mother Kaitlin would come to pick her up. The character in the tweet may be a sister or other relative of Katie or Kaitlin.

Tweet Translation:

There was a girl I hadn’t seen before so I thought she might be lost, but turns out she wasn’t! She says she takes the train by herself and travel to different villages! She seemed to have been going around asking for suggestions of other villages, and it looks like a kind person showed her the way to another village somewhere.

Speech Bubble Translation:

Aaaaah~, I’m not lost, I’m Maiko!

Tweet #37: Surprise Mushroom Lamp

12 years ago 3 Comments

The Mushroom season continues on in the town as villagers hunt for mushrooms. Someone actually picked up a Mushroom Lamp instead of a mushroom. What a surprise!

Tweet Translation:

Good morning, everyooone! This morning the village was again filled with people hunting for mushrooms. There someone who was surprised at what thought what they picked was a mushroom, was actually a Mushroom Lamp! That would definitively surprise anyone~!

Speech Bubble Translation:

What I thought was a mushroom was actually a Mushroom Lamp!

Tweet #36: Birthday Party

12 years ago 2 Comments

It’s John’s birthday today and so there’s a nice birthday party going on at his house. Other villagers will come to the birthday villager’s house to visit them and give presents.

Tweet Translation:

Oh, that’s right! Today was John’s (one of our villagers) birthday! I heard he threw a birthday party at his house, and he looked so happy surrounded by friends and presents!

Speech Bubble Translation:

John: So…Did you also bring something for me?

Tweet #35: Mushroom Season

12 years ago 6 Comments

November is upon us and the Mushroom season has begun! During the Mushroom season, you’ll find all kinds of mushrooms under the trees in your town. Skinny and round are just some of the types of mushroom to be found.

Speculation: In City Folk, the entire month of November was Mushroom season. There were five types of mushrooms: Elegant, Rare, Flat, Skinny, and Round. In addition, some of the mushrooms you picked up were actually Mushroom furniture. Based on this tweet, I’m thinking the season will be exactly the same in New Leaf but I guess we’ll know for sure soon.

Tweet Translation:

Everyooone! Today marks the start of November! I found some mushrooms growing when I was taking a stroll this morning! Skinny mushrooms, round mushrooms, there are a lot of different kinds, but when it comes to fall, you want to be sure and eat an aromatic elegant mushroom too, right? Though their price can be pretty high…!
