New Bugs, Fish, Sea Creatures In January For Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Northern & Southern Hemisphere)

2 months ago 5 Comments

The new year of 2021 is here, so it’s time for a New Bugs, Fish, and Sea Creatures Arriving in January Guide for Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH)! We’ll tell you every new critter joining your island this month.

Each and every month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings a different set of fish or bug creatures that can appear on your Animal Crossing island depending on the current month from the real-time clock.

That means you can potentially discover some new fish, bugs, and sea creatures on your island to catch when January begins that weren’t previously available to catch during December!

So if you want to catch every single creature to complete your NookPhone’s Critterpedia for getting golden tool items and donate every critter to the Museum, it’s important to know which critters have arrived this month and make sure you catch them as soon as you can to get an early start.

This guide covers both the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere islands — you’ll find the Southern information below the Northern sections.

Finally, it’s worth noting that we’re getting far enough into the game’s lifecycle that you will see some creatures arriving that have already previously been available in another month earlier this year. We write these guides inclusive of no matter when someone may have started playing or taken a break, so repeats will show up sometimes!

New Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bugs, Fish, Sea Creatures In January (Northern Hemisphere)

Surprisingly, there aren’t actually any brand new bugs, fish, or sea creatures available to catch on your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island during the month of January in the Northern Hemisphere! All of the fun is reserved for the Southern Hemisphere this month.

Northern Hemisphere players may want to check out the new creatures that arrived in December, or focus on the Winter Snowflake recipes from balloons and building Perfect Snowboys still available during January.
