Last Chance To Get Setsubun Beans & Costumes Or Groundhog Day Resetti In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

1 month ago 2 Comments

There’s only a couple days left to get five different limited-time items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Setsubun holiday in Japan and Groundhog Day — don’t miss out!

To celebrate Groundhog Day, an adorable Resetti Model furniture item is available in the Seasonal tab of Nook Shopping until end of day on February 2nd. This cute little figurine is a throwback to the original Animal Crossing on GameCube’s mini Groundhog Day event that featured Resetti himself checking for his shadow at the Wishing Well!

We’re still hopeful for Resetti returning as a more prominent character in Animal Crossing: New Horizons eventually outside of the Rescue Service, but until that day comes, it’s great to see our favorite mole hasn’t been completely forgotten.

The other item you’ll want to pickup at Nook Shopping before it’s too late is the Bean-Tossing Kit, celebrating a Japanese holiday called Setsubun,  available until February 3rd!

Don’t mistake this item for simply another decorative item to place in your house either as we’ve seen some players report as a misunderstanding.

The Bean-Tossing Kit is a unique tool that can be used repeatedly to throw beans out of your hands into the Animal Crossing world, including on water for a fun splash effect that even scares away fish shadows! Although they’re not quite as nice as New Leaf’s version, but that’s a story for another day…

In addition to the items covered above in Nook Shopping, make sure you’ve collected all of the clothing items available at the Able Sisters shop for Setsubun as well.

The Ogre Costume, Horned-Ogre Mask, and Okame Mask can be purchased from Able Sisters only from February 1st to 3rd before disappearing until next year’s Setsubun period.

Of course, it’s worth noting that it is possible to time travel backwards later to get these items as they aren’t retroactively locked by Nintendo or anything like that. Many Animal Crossing players prefer to play in real time without modifying the clock though, and those fans will want to order these limited time items before they’re gone.
