Amazing Animal Crossing: New Horizons Soundtrack Collections Coming To Japan [Import Pre-Orders]

Two official Animal Crossing: New Horizons soundtrack collections are coming to Japan later this year, plus sheet music and a limited edition bundle!

It’s not often that Nintendo produces official soundtrack releases of their video game music, and especially not in such an elaborate fashion with fancy packaging like this, making this quite an incredible announcement.

As far as know, the last time Animal Crossing series music was officially released is with a CD album for Animal Crossing: City Folk back in 2009 — and that release wasn’t complete at all missing plenty of songs.

There’s four different Animal Crossing: New Horizons soundtrack related products releasing in Japan over the next few months, so we’ll go over all of them in the sections below!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons BGM Soundtrack Collection

Release Date: June 9th, 2021
Price: 4,950 Yen (~$45 USD)
4 CDs with 173 tracks.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons BGM Soundtrack Collection features the game’s entire 24-hour track list, including both rain and snow variations. An extensive selection of indoors building music is included too, such as the Museum and Nook’s Cranny.

You’ll also find tracks from exploring Nook Mile Islands at all times of day, the game’s opening sequence songs, and more.

Plus, music from Animal Crossing’s full collection of holiday events is included as well for Bunny Day, Turkey Day, Toy Day, Festivale, and more. This soundtrack truly contains everything Animal Crossing: New Horizons has to offer!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons K.K. Slider Soundtrack Collection

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons K.K. Slider Soundtrack Collection features K.K. Slider’s complete discography of 95 different instrumental songs, including the ‘secret’ tracks not found on airchecks in-game.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Soundtrack Limited Edition Bundle contains all of the tracks included in the two individual collections listed above, plus two extra goodies for the most dedicated collectors!

First, you’ll receive a bonus K.K. Slider themed case for storing your earphones featuring his face front and center.

Next, there’s even a K.K. Slider artwork jacket showcasing the Japanese album art for every K.K. Slider song in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! This is pretty incredible and what pushed us over the edge to purchase this bundle ourselves.

Finally, the Limited Edition Bundle comes in what Nintendo calls a ‘luxury box’, which is probably a bit of an overstatement.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Piano Sheet Music

Release Date: April 25th, 2021
Price: 1,540 Yen (~$14 USD)
28 pages included.

While not nearly as exciting as the other products, Nintendo is also releasing an official set of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Piano Sheet Music with 28 pages included.

How To Import & Pre-Order Animal Crossing: New Horizons Soundtracks

Though we can’t rule out an English or overseas release with certainty, we personally believe it’s incredibly unlikely to occur. The packaging on these collections are pretty sophisticated and it just strikes us as unlikely that Nintendo of America or Nintendo of Europe will deem the trouble worthwhile.

Therefore, if you want to secure a copy for yourself, we highly suggest arranging an import from Japan.

Currently, as of early morning on April 14th when writing this article, the Limited Edition Bundle is available on Amazon Japan for international shipping. If you’re willing to pay up, this is likely your best option. The cheaper individual collections are not in-stock as of writing, but you can check on the same page by selecting different options, in case they have become available.

There’s also an identical listing at Amazon US, however it’s noted as a pre-order and has a suspiciously similar price to the Amazon Japan use price when accounting for shipping, so we’re guessing it’s essentially the same order routed through Amazon US first. A release date of April 16th is listed there, but we believe that’s incorrect.

Another potential option is Play-Asia, a well known online retailer for video game related imports. They currently have all three soundtrack options available for pre-order here.

The official Nintendo Store in Japan currently has the two individual BGM and K.K. Slider collections available for pre-order, however the store only ships within Japan, so you will have to use a third-party service like Tenso.
