Plant and Grow Irises to Catch Flickerflies

Getting started in this gardening event is easy, just head over to the entrance of your garden to the left of your campsite and talk to event host Redd to obtain your first Iris seeds for free. With your new seeds, tap on the dirt plots in your garden to plant and water them. When the timer on a plant is complete, the Iris will bloom!
When irises bloom during Redd’s Summer Festival, there’s a random chance of a Flickerfly creature spawning on top of the iris plant. Once a creature is ready and waiting, you’ll have to tap on it to attempt a catch. Then when attempting a catch, there’s another random chance of the catch failing. If you do successfully catch a creature, it will be added to your event task counts for rewards!
The corresponding irises and creature matches are as follows:
- Blue Irises spawn white Lucent Flickerflies
- Yellow Irises spawn blue Azure Flickerflies
- White Irises spawn both red Scarlet Flickerflies and gold Glided Flickerflies
Wondering what your chances are of creatures spawning and being caught successfully? See the table below for a summary of the spawn and catch rates for this event:
Creature | Spawn | Catch |
---|---|---|
Lucent Flickerfly | 60% | 80% |
Azure Flickerfly | 55% | 55% |
Scarlet Flickerfly | 35% | 53% |
Gilded Flickerfly | 25% | 48% |

Don’t Forget to Share Your Flickerflies
The essential key to completing a gardening event in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp successfully is making full use of the sharing features! Whenever you have Flickerflies sitting in your inventory, share them with friends. Just visit a friend’s garden from the friends list and place your creatures on any grown irises they have available. After sharing, you’ll receive iris seeds and friend powder to help you progress in the event.

It’s important to know that sharing creatures never negatively effects your personal task counts and rewards — there’s absolutely no reason not to share, you can only benefit! Always share as much as possible to help yourself get more seeds, while helping your friends progress in their own tasks. You can complete the event much faster than on your own by sharing back and forth with a buddy.
Complete Event Goals for Leaf Tickets, Essences, and More
Like all other Pocket Camp events, Redd’s Summer Festival includes lots of Event Goals to complete for bonus rewards. You’ll get extra iris seeds, villager essences, bells, materials and most importantly 40 free Leaf Tickets!
Note: Leaf Tickets are not rewarded directly through individual goals, but at the end of every set of 5 goals. Track your progress towards the free Leaf Tickets by looking at the top of your Event Goals screen.
