How To Restart May Day Maze Island If You Get Stuck Or Leave In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The May Day event has returned for 2021 today in Animal Crossing: New Horizons allowing access to a fun new maze, but what can you do if you mess up the puzzle and find yourself unable to progress?
We’ve heard from a number of readers in the comments on our May Day Tour Event Guide that they’ve found themselves with irrecoverable mistakes on their maze island. So in this article, we’ll briefly cover what you can do if you find yourself in this situation.
While the May Day Maze is relatively straightforward once you understand everything that’s going on, it’s definitely easy to make a mistake and mess up on your first few tries when you first arrive on the May Day Tour island if you’re not familiar with how it works yet. Arguably, the 2021 version is more complex than last year’s too.
How To Reset May Day Tour Maze Island
Did you mess up the the May Day maze blocking yourself from progressing to the end or accessing all nine Bell Vouchers, but you haven’t actually left the May Day Tour island yet to come read this article? We have good news for you!
It’s super easy to reset the May Day Maze puzzle on your May Day island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons fixing any mistakes you made. Just open your NookPhone and check the second page for the Rescue Service app!
When you use the Rescue Service app, your NookPhone will call up the capable fellows at the Reset Surveillance Center and help you out by taking you back to the island’s start with a fresh new maze saving you from any irreversible mistakes or errors you made earlier.
Unfortunately, using the Rescue Service app will cost you 100 Nook Miles for the trouble, but it’s definitely worth the price to fix your mistakes and complete the maze to meet Rover in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for an exclusive prize! You can reset using the Rescue Service app as many times as you can afford.
How To Return To May Day Tour Maze Island
Did you get stuck or mess up the May Day maze, but already left the island returning home before reading this article? Unfortunately, it’s not possible for you to return to the May Day Tour island until next year as travel is limited to only one time per player during the event.
There is one more option you can explore though! Since every player on an Animal Crossing: New Horizons save should have the opportunity to visit the May Day Tour island and complete the maze, it’s actually possible to visit again by playing on another player character living on your island.
This will allow you a second try at the May Day island and maze without having to wait until next year. Plus, all of the prizes found by completing the maze can be easily traded to your main character by dropping them on the ground outside your main player’s house — including both Rover items and Bell Vouchers.
If you don’t already have a secondary alternative player character living on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, we’d recommend considering creating one sometime because it can certainly come in handy for situations like this event and it won’t be the only time.
To create a new resident on your island, simply load up Animal Crossing: New Horizons with a new different profile on your Nintendo Switch. If you don’t have an extra profile already, you’ll need to create one. Then you can move a brand new player character onto your island!
