Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2021 In Animal Crossing: New Horizons Tonight — Don’t Miss Exclusive Items

In just a few hours later tonight depending on your time zone, Isabelle and Tom Nook will host the second New Year’s Eve celebration of Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Join them to get your hands on a few exclusive items.
All day long today, you’ll find decorations setup outside of Resident Services alongside a rare outdoors appearance of both Isabelle and Tom Nook. It’s not often we get to see these two outside the confines of their office space, so be sure to chat them up in this rare opportunity!
You’ll want to speak with both of them to get your hands on two different limited time New Year’s Eve items as well — the Light Stick from Isabelle and the New Year’s Hat or New Year’s Silk Hat from Tom Nook. The former is free, while Tom Nook will be happy to sell you four different color variations for 500 Bells each.
Only one of either the New Year’s Hat or New Year’s Silk Hat will be sold on your island this year though. You’ll need to either wait until next year’s event or visit a friend’s island for a chance to find the opposite item missing from your own island. Additionally, only 4 out of 8 color variations will be sold on each island.
For many players, this will be their second opportunity to enjoy New Year’s Eve in Animal Crossing: New Horizons providing a chance to get whichever hat type they missed out on last year if they didn’t participate in online trading!
After picking up your Light Stick from Isabelle and hopefully purchasing a few New Year’s Hats, it’s time to wait until around 11PM when the countdown festivities will start to heat up with party music and villagers gathering around the plaza. And as the midnight hour approaches, that celebratory music will continue to heat up!
Finally, when there’s about a minute left on the clock, your villagers will take out their own Light Sticks and begin waving them around in the final countdown of seconds until the New Year begins, with a fantastic fireworks show on display.
