Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Ends Naked Villagers Incident (Version 2.0.4 Patch Notes)

A new update has been released by Nintendo for Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) tonight with Version 2.0.4 fixing several more issues with the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

Following up on the Version 2.0.1, 2.0.2, and 2.0.3 Updates we saw released through last month, today’s Version 2.0.4 patch fixes even more minor issues and glitches found in the game since Version 2.0 launched! It’s great to see that Nintendo’s developers have been continuing to work on the game getting it into tip-top shape before moving on.

This isn’t to be mistaken for a major update that contains new content — those come with more fanfare than this, plus Nintendo has confirmed that major new content will no longer be released for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

So, what exactly did the update fix this time around? Well, most notably Nintendo has resolved a particularly famous bug shared around social media over the past few weeks that would sometimes allow for villagers to appear naked without clothes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

This unfortunate glitch would occur sometimes when visiting facilities as part of the Happy Home Paradise DLC expansion. In case you’re not familiar, we’ll share some popular examples of the bug from social media throughout this article!

Aside from the naked villager incident, which was clearly the most important issue that Nintendo needed to fix, there are a few other bugs resolved in the Version 2.0.4 Update as well.

Sometimes when players used the Ladder Set-Up Kit on a diagonal third tier cliff, the ladder could disappear after saving — that’s been fixed now.

There was also a problem where the two new recipes Maple Leaf Rug and Frozen Floor Tiles would be included under the wrong seasonal category in the DIY Recipes app, but those recipes should be displaying correctly now where they belong.

If the version notation on the upper right of the software title screen is “Ver. 2.0.4”, it has been updated.

Fixed Issues

Fixed an issue where the ”ladder set-up kit” could disappear when the game was saved with the “ladder set-up kit” placed on the diagonal cliff on the third tier of a cliff formation.
Fixed an issue where under ”Seasonal Recipes” for DIY recipes, the ”maple-leaf rug” and “frozen floor tiles” were not being displayed under the appropriate seasons.
Other fixes have also been made for more enjoyable gameplay.

Fixed Issues Related to DLC

The following issues related to the paid DLC Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise have been fixed.

Fixed an issue where facility members wearing clothing that uses Custom Designs appear to not be wearing any clothing.
Fixed an issue in ”Showroom”, where uploading player’s facilities after visiting another player’s facilities resulted in members of player’s facilities appearing as island residents that visited the facilities.
Other fixes have also been made for more enjoyable gameplay.

Please note that you will need to be updated to Version 2.0.4 to play online multiplayer with other players and access other network features going forward after this update. Local multiplayer can only be played with others on the same version of the game as you.

Your copy of the game should update automatically for you, but if for some reason it doesn’t, you can manually trigger the update by pressing the + button on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons home screen icon, selecting Software Update, and hitting Via the Internet.
