Every Zelda item can be unlocked by scanning ANY of the amiibo listed above, there are no specific requirements.

To scan a Zelda amiibo, use the Nook Stop terminal inside Resident Services, and select ‘Invite amiibo Camper’ — even if you’re not looking to invite a villager. You can also scan at Photopia on Harv’s Island or The Roost to unlock items if you have already invited a villager for the day.

Splatoon villagers and items were also added in Version 3.0.

The Legend of Zelda Villagers: Mineru & Tulin

Two villagers inspired by The Legend of Zelda characters can be invited to your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 3.0:

  • Mineru, the female snooty deer villager inspired by Mineru in Tears of the Kingdom.
  • Tulin, the male jock bird villager inspired by Tulin in Tears of the Kingdom.

After scanning one of their matching amiibo at the Nook Stop, Mineru or Tulin will move into your island’s campsite for the day. Invite, visit, and talk to them every day for 3 days while fulfilling their DIY crafted item requests to invite them as a proper resident on your island. You will need to pick a villager to be replaced if you already have 10.

The Legend of Zelda Items: Furniture & Clothing

Collaboration items from The Legend of Zelda, including both furniture and clothing, can be unlocked exclusively by tapping any compatible Zelda amiibo figure to your Nintendo Switch. It does not matter which one, as long as it’s from the Zelda series.

After unlocking with an amiibo tap, you can purchase these Zelda items under the Special Goods Promotion section of Nook Shopping. Access the menu either through the Nook Stop terminal at Resident Services or the Nook Shopping app on your NookPhone if unlocked.

Some of the items above, like the different colored Rupees, are variations that must be customized at a DIY Workbench. And by the way, if you want to obtain the entire collection, be sure to order items every day as there is a daily limit of 5 orders per day at Nook Shopping!

Getting Zelda Items Without Amiibo

Even if you don’t have access to The Legend of Zelda amiibo, you can still enjoy these items by trading with a friend or other players online.

However, do note that the typical strategy of picking up and dropping an item from another player to ‘catalog’ it, to later order a copy for yourself does not work for these amiibo items. They’re only for sale in the Promotion tab of Nook Shopping when the amiibo has been scanned by you.

You’ll have to be gifted an actual copy of the item if you don’t own a Zelda amiibo figure yourself. For convenience, you can also directly mail them to friends using the Send as Gift option in Nook Shopping.
