Halloween Lollipops: How To Get & What To Do With Them

Lollipops are a Halloween item to collect in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) at the end of October during the Halloween Night event with Jack! Learn how to get Lollipops and what to do with them in this guide.

How To Get Halloween Lollipops

Lollipops are a special event item and cannot be purchased from Nook’s Cranny or any other shop, unlike Candy. Rather, you can only get Lollipops by participating in the Halloween Night event held on October 31st from 5PM to Midnight.

Give Candy To Villagers On Halloween Night

The only method for getting Lollipops is by giving Candy to your island’s villagers during the Halloween event during the evening on October 31st. There’s no other way to get Lollipops as they cannot be purchased.

You’ll want to give Candy to the villagers roaming the outdoors of your island as villagers inside homes won’t play Trick or Treat with you and accept your items. Use the indoor villagers to get more Candy instead.

However, you won’t always receive a Lollipop from your villagers as they can also give you some of the Halloween exclusive Spooky Set items and recipes including the Spooky Table Setting, Spooky Garland, and more.

From our experience, villagers will give out Lollipops about 25% of the time, so just keep trying and give them more Candy if you don’t have luck yet. After playing Trick or Treat with a villager once, they won’t immediately allow you to play again, but this can be easily circumvented.

Simply enter and leave a nearby building like your house or Resident Services to reset a villager’s ability to accept more Candy from you. You’ll then be able to play Trick or Treat with the villager again and give them another piece of Candy for a chance at Lollipops.

You can use this trick repeatedly all night long during Halloween to keep giving Candy to your villagers in hopes of getting the Lollipops and other rewards you want.

How To Get More Candy During Halloween

Have you run out of Candy? You can easily get more Candy during Halloween Night on October 31st by visiting a villager inside their home while wearing a scary costume. This can be repeated every 5 minutes or so.

If you don’t have a costume, give Candy to Jack until he gives you the Jack’s Robe and Jack’s Face items. Wear both of them to get some Candy out of your villagers!

What To Do With Halloween Lollipops

Lollipops in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can primarily be used as treats given to Jack the Pumpkin Czar, plus a few other minor uses.

Give Lollipops to Jack On Halloween Night

Before Jack will begin accepting Lollipops though, you will need to give him some Candy. After doing so, he’ll mention Lollipops and ask for you to find some for him.

Once you’ve collected some Lollipops from giving Candy to your island’s villagers, head back to Jack and share them with him for a couple exclusive Spooky Set items that can’t be obtained in any other way.

In exchange for Lollipops, Jack will give you the following exclusive Spooky Set items in this order:

Lollipop #	Jack's Reward
Lollipop #1	Spooky Carriage
Lollipop #2	Spooky Carriage (DIY Recipe)
Lollipop #3	Spooky Wand (DIY Recipe)

After getting the Spooky Wand DIY Recipe item, further Lollipops will give duplicates of the Jack’s Robe and Jack’s Face items which you should already have from giving him regular Candy.

Unless you want extra copies of Jack’s Robe and Jack’s Face, you will only need to get and exchange 3 Lollipops to get all of the exclusive items from Jack!

Give Lollipops to Villagers On Halloween Night

If you’ve already received all of your desired items from Jack, you can give Lollipops to villagers outside on your island as well in place of Candy. However, there aren’t any unique rewards for this, so only do this once you have everything from Jack and still need items from villagers.

Drop Lollipops To Spawn Ants

In case you haven’t already caught an Ant bug in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can easily do so by using Lollipops!

Simply drop a Lollipop item on the ground outside and walk away from that area of your island. You can return a bit later after making some distance  and there’s a good chance you’ll find Ants crawling over your Lollipop.

Eat Lollipops For Fruit Energy

One more final use for Lollipops in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to simply eat them gaining fruit energy that allows you to destroy rocks and pick up trees in your inventory.

However, we wouldn’t recommend doing so given that both Fruit and Turnips already offer much better energy, while Lollipops can be quite a pain to get.
